Which flat roofing system is best for my property?
No single system suits every roof. The right choice depends on the size and shape of the roof, whether it needs to carry foot traffic, how it meets the surrounding walls, and your budget. EPDM rubber suits most domestic extensions and garages, GRP fibreglass is the stronger option for balconies and walk-on areas, and torch-on felt remains economical on larger roofs. We inspect the roof before making a recommendation.
Can a flat roof be repaired, or does it need replacing?
Localised faults such as a split seam, a blister or a failed upstand can usually be cut out and repaired without disturbing the rest of the roof. Replacement becomes the better option once a covering has reached the end of its life, where the deck beneath has decayed, or where leaks continue to appear in new positions. We will advise you which of these applies, including when the smaller job is sufficient.
Why is water sitting on my flat roof?
A flat roof should never be entirely level. It is built with a slight fall so that water runs to the outlets. Standing water, known as ponding, usually indicates insufficient fall, a deck that has begun to sag, or a blocked outlet. Because it places the covering under constant load and accelerates wear, it is worth investigating rather than leaving.
